Prospective Effect Analysis of Generative Manufacturing Processes
Generative or additive manufacturing processes, also known as 3D printing in the media, are established prototype technologies. However, for some years now they have also been increasingly used in the manufacture of final components and products for end consumers. They enable the design of innovative component structures and shapes and are particularly suitable for individual products and small series.
On the other hand, Generative materials have completely different material properties and integration into production processes and existing supply chains is not unproblematic. The project is therefore investigating the extent to which the additive processes have already established themselves as manufacturing technology in industrial practice, which industries they are already using as standard and the consequences and technical, economic and social developments that experts expect to see in the next few years.
